The color is ruby red, consistent and clear. To the nose it presents intense fruity, floral, and herbaceous aromas with strong scent of cherries, plums and light balsamic notes of aromatic herbs and liquorice. To the palate it reveals excellent acidity, with pleasant tannins sustained by adequate softness. A wine with a good balance, notable persistence and a pleasant bitterish finish.

It pairs pleasantly with a wide range of hearty, flavorful recipes, from grilled smoked scamorza cheese, to pappardelle with rabbit sauce, from turkey thigh peasant style to wild boar stew.
